The Wal-Board 7 inch Drywall Broad Knife is used to wipe down joints directly after the application of joint tape. Broad Knives have a specific purpose of wiping down the tape, not apply coats of compound. These Knives are commonly used in a two-man taping process where one worker is applying the tape with a taping machine (auto taper or drywall banjo) and the other worker is following behind wiping joints with this exact knife. The advantages of this particular knife are its special 7 inch blue spring steel blade and it's longer 14 inch handle, each making it easier to wipe down joints from the floor. This knife allows you to only use one tool to wipedown all of your joints from factory recessed edges, butts, and ceilings. Use this knife on a bench or stilts and really extend your reach!
